Being a ski bum is a calling, a vocation, a pleasure, and – at times – a desperate need.
One thing is for sure: it takes one to know one. If our stories aren’t real then at least they’re really out there: tall, true, twisted or just plain trippy…
Editorial
Sam Masters is the author of The Story of New Zealand Freeskiing – a globally unique visual history of a sport whose playing fields create their own weather.
His powder addiction has required unsuccessful treatment at over 100 ski resorts in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Austria, Germany, France, Switzerland & Italy. So far.
A former Editor of Powderhound Ski Magazine in Australia, Sam has published hundreds of articles in the global snowsports media. He wrote, filmed, produced and anchored The Mayhem Tour - a snowsports TV show and webzine (that’s really what they called it in the early noughties) in New Zealand.
Sam identifies as a ski bum.
Design
Dylan du Plessis is a brilliant bunch of guys.
As a producer, graphic designer, illustrator, creative director and writer he is the ultimate artistic Swiss Army Knife. Only more useful.
Publishing Advisor
Lisette du Plessis is 70% book.
She has worked as a lawyer and design studio manager but has sensibly laid these frivolities aside to become wielder of the red pen, holder of the authorial hand, and a publishing powerhouse.
